　　先日大学を卒業した学生が社会人として働き始める初日

                                                                            などなど

また、今年は

自動車に関連する税の一部や国民年金保険料の負担の増加

一部の食卓塩やアイスなどの価格の値上げ

未成年者向けの少額投資非課税制度「ジュニアNISA」の開始

企業の法人実効税率引き下げ

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　などがあります。（産経新聞参照）

It is the day when many of changes take place in Japan.

It is the first day of the school year and  the fiscal year,

government agencies and many  of companies enforce the new system, and

the people who graduated from the universities begins working as a member of society, etc.  

For example, tax increase of car, price increase of some foods, and reduction of corporate tax, etc.

国内外問わず、ユニークな嘘が飛び交う日ですね！

由来は、フランス、キリスト教、インドなど、諸説ありますが、はっきりとはわかっていないようです。

そして、嘘をついていいのは午前中だけ、などルールもあるそう。

Then, April Fool's Day ! 

It is the day a unique lie flurry in many places of the world! 

There are several theories of the origin, such as France, Christianity, and India, however,  they are not sure. 

Moreover, there is some rules; lying is forgive only in the morning.

Happy Valentine's Day ♡

日本では、女性が男性にチョコレートを渡す日として浸透しているバレンタインデー。今回は日本のバレンタインデーについて紹介します。（マジョリティ視点から）

February 14th.
Valentine's Day is familiar to Japanese as the day women give chocolates to men. Today's topic is about Japanese Valentine's day! :)　(I write this article on a majority's viewpoint.)

女性とバレンタインデー
1. 思いをよせる相手に気持ちを伝える日。この日に手作りチョコレート菓子を相手に渡す
　のが定番としてあります。
2. 恋人や夫にチョコを使って愛情を伝える日。
3. 友人に日頃の感謝をチョコを使って伝える日。
4. 異性の家族に日頃の感謝をチョコを使って伝える日。

Women and Valentine's Day
1. the day to tell love to the one you love. it is common that women make
    chocolate sweets and give them to the one!
2. the day to tell love to the lover
3. the day to tell thanks to friends
4. the day to tell thanks to male family

男性とバレンタインデー 
1. 女性から男性に告白する記念日

経済効果
バレンタインデーが近づくと、チョコレートを販売する多くのお店に人集りや行列ができます。催事売り場や大きめの駅にはチョコ売り場が設けられます。

日本のバレンタインデーは、製菓業界が行ったキャンペーンによって１９７０年代に定着しました。

それから５０年。

バレンタインデーの期間だけで５００億、年間販売額の10％以上のチョコレートが販売されるそう！（参照：日本チョコレートココア協会）


Economic Effect
before the Valentine's Day, many people gather and formed a line in front of shops that sell chocolate. Chocolate departments are founded in the special events departments and larger station.

Valentine's Day in Japan was established in the 1970s by a campaign which the confectionery industry started. 

50 years passed.

50 billion chocolate, which is more than 10% of the chocolate of annual sales, are sold during the Valentine's Day! ( Japan 's chocolate Cocoa Association)

最近では友チョコ、義理チョコ、逆チョコ、自己チョコ、などチョコも様々。

there are variety of styles to tell thanks by chocolate.
Honmei-choco : valentine's chocolate. the chocolate you give to the one you love
Tomo-choco : friendship chocolate
Giri-choco : courtesy chocolate. the chocolate you give to the one you have no
                  romantic interests but you want to show gratitude.
Gyaku-choco : the chocolate men give to women
Jiko-choco : the chocolate you give to yourself

ちなみに友人によるとアメリカでは、男性が女性と豪華な夕食を楽しんだり、バラやチョコレートといった贈り物をする日なんだそう。もし忘れてしまうと…big trubleが起こるそう。笑


消費者や生産者目線、いろいろな視点から見ても面白い日ですね！

Coming of Age ☆ 成人式

今日は成人の日。
新成人の皆さん、おめでとうございます！(^0^)


日本では、２０歳から法律で成人とみなします。そして今日、日本の至る所で成人式が行われました。そんなおめでたい日について紹介したいと思います。



Today is Coming-of-Age Day!
Congratuｌations, everyone who is coming of age!

In Japan, 20 years of age is considered to be an adult in the law, and coming-of-age ceremony were hold in the many place today.
I would like to introduce about such meaningful day!

成人の日とは？

大人になったことを祝う日が「成人の日」です。

国民の祝日にもなっています。

以前は１月15日でしたが、2000年から１月の第２月曜日になりました。

Coming-of-Age Day

The day people celebrate the adulthood of those reaching 20 is known as SEIJINNOHI, or Coming-of-Age day. It is a national holiday. This celebration used to be held on January 15th, but it was moved to the second Monday of January in the year 2000.

成人式

成人の日には、各市町村で新成人を招いて式典が行われます。

前年の4月2日からその年の4月1日に成人する人が式典に参加します。

式典のために地元に帰る新成人にとっては、昔からの友人との近況報告の場。

そして、見どころはなんといっても女性の振袖姿や男性の羽織袴！

Coming-of-age ceremony 

On Coming-of-Age day, each town and city has ceremony for people coming of age. 

People who are born from April 2 before the year to April 1 in the year can participate in the ceremony.

Many of them go back to their hometown to attend the ceremony, so it is a good opportunity for them to catch up with old friends. 

You cannot miss that many women wear furisode, long-sleeved kimono, and that some men wear hakama!

二十歳になるということは…

日本で20歳になるということは、飲酒が認められたり選挙権が与えられるといった権利を持つことになります。その反面、義務や責任も発生し、年金に加入し実名報道もされるようになります。

To be 20-year-old in Japan means that the people have rights, such as they are permit drinking alcohol and they are given the right to vote. At the same time, it means they also have duties and responsibilities, such as they have to enroll in a pension plan and their name make public when they have some trouble.

しかしながら、今日街中を歩くと振り袖姿の新成人をたくさん見かけました。

皆さん、とても綺麗で輝いていました（*^^*）

By the way, I see many coming of age people who wear furisode in the town today!

They are beautiful and beaming with happiness!

今年最初の日本の文化紹介は十二支についてです。

2016 is the year of Monkey! 
First introduce of Japanese culture in this year is about "JUNISHI".






「十二支」知って？

時刻や方角、年や日を示すのに使われる、、子(し)・丑(ちゅう)・寅(いん)・卯(ぼう)・辰(しん)・巳(し)・午(ご)・未(び)・申(しん)・酉(ゆう)・戌(じゅつ)・亥(がい)の総称。1年ごとに変わり、それらを表す十二の動物がいます。

そして、日本はそれらの動物の名でその年を呼びます。
今年は「申」なので「申年」です。




What is "JUNISHI"?

JUNISHI is used to show time, days, years, and directions. JUNISHI changes every year, and it is represented by different twelve animals.

寅(虎) -とら -tora(tiger)
卯(兎) -う／うさぎ -u(rabbit)
辰(竜) -たつ -tatsu(dragon)
巳(蛇) -み／へび -mi(snake)
午(馬) -うま -uma(horse)
未(羊) -ひつじ -hitsuji(sheep)
申(猿) -さる -saru(monkey)
酉(鳥) -とり -tori(cock)
戌(犬) -いぬ -inu(dog)
亥(猪) -い／いのしし -i (boar)

In Japan, we call the year in the name of these animals.

This year is "申saru", so 2016 is "the year of monkey."

歴史

時代は中国の「殷」の時代（約3700～3000年前）。王充（おういつ）という人が、民衆に十二支を浸透させるために、数詞に馴染み易い動物の名を当てたことから始まります。
日本には2000年ほど前に伝わりました。


History 

It dates back to the Yin period (about 3700-3000 years ago) in China. Wang Chong started using animals' names as an alternative to the numeral  in order to spread JUNISHI. 
After it, JUNISHI came to Japan about 2000 years ago.

山の賢者で、山神の使いと信じられていました。

器用で臨機応変なことの象徴です。

Monkey was believed that it was a sage and messenger from a god of mountains.

Monkey is a symbol of deft and resourceful.

University Festival ☆ 学祭

11月下旬になり、秋も深まってきましたね。
秋といえば、芸術の秋、食欲の秋、スポーツの秋…
日本にはたくさんの秋における表現があります！

そして、文化の秋！
文化！　
文化？
文化祭？
文化祭！

東京には大学がいっぱい！そして、私も大学生ということもあり、学祭を楽しんできました(^^) 
学祭は、第二次世界大戦前から行われ、戦後から近年のような形態で行われるようになったそうです。海外にはあまり見られない、日本の年中行事の一つである学祭！
今回は、４つの大学の学祭をご紹介します！




It becomes to late November. Fall is in full swing!
In Japan, there is many representations of fall because autumn is a perfect season to have a good appetite, art, and sports etc.

And one of representation is "season for culture"!
culture! culture? Cultural festival ? Cultural festival!

"Cultural festival" is called “bunkasai” in Japanese, and especially "university festival" is called “daigaku-sai”. “Daigaku” means university and “sai” means festival in Japanese. Daigaku-sai started before WWⅡ, and it is an event held by most universities around Culture Day (November 3), Japanese national holiday. Daigaku-sai is the good opportunity each year for students to see and express their activities, so student display or perform their works. Moreover, a variety of projects are held by students in daigaku-sai, such as talk show by a famous person, concerts by singers, contests such as “Miss campus”, entrance examination briefing etc.

There are so many universities at Tokyo ! I'm a university student, so I visited and enjoyed some daigaku-sai. It is not seen too much overseas, which is one of Japan's annual events. !Today I introduce 4 daigaku-sai!
